I wrote this strip one night when I was low on sleep but over-caffienated. I don't know why I did it. And at the time I didn't realize that diablo was in fact a chicken. The end result is that I now have a thread of bad strips where diablo is constantly mistaken for a duck.

Sometimes a mere wisp of an idea is the genesis of a crappy strip.

I was doing a series of strips where Maura and pink donkey are holding conversations in the graveyard when I noticed the tombstone behind pink donkey fits his head almost perfectly. Again sleep deprivation made me think it was funny at the time.
