I think this article is more about schools and the concepts they're built on than the popularity of Nerds, but it's a great read... and probably one that teachers would rather their students not see.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about swears in usernames yet. I'm not filtering favorites and stuff, but I think I might eventually.

The filter isn't really meant to be good (it's impossible to write a good one), it's just meant to be a brute force way of keeping swears on the down-low to the casual visitor.

I noticed just now, not being logged in, that the word "piss" in mikeyG's "Taking the Piss out of forum users" comics is not starred out when the forum prints the links to the comics on the screen.

Since it is censored elsewhere, I figured that this was a bug.

At least there's no "meandering stream of random thoughts" filter on the horizon.

For I fear I'd never be heard from again.
