I figured that mine was fair game because it centered on the bullshit *I* was experiencing. The "they're all ground floor now" part was a little crude, but it's kinda like the Hawkeye Pierce reaction to the situation. It's an expression of incredulity. I don't expect everyone to get it. Personally, I'm offended by the massive amount of religious/flag-waving/bigoted email I've received to my work account. Rather than tell everyone off for what I see as an inappropriate way to express their grief and helplessness (polluting my inbox), I quietly delete.
My mom is pissed off because the beautiful little tree that sat so peacefully and zen-like outside her window is now choked with red, white, blue, and yellow ribbons (no doubt they've added purple, too).
No one can force everyone to suddenly be tolerant, but I can advise that adopting a small measure of tolerance when it comes to understanding people's different ways of processing this is just easier than telling everyone off.
I'm sure that kaufman could post several pages in dedication to the irony of LadyJ preaching tolerance.
