Dean is unelectable. The Bush team would paint him up as an East-coast Socialist cappuccino-drinker, in contrast to W's folksy, dull-witted charm. Never mind that Bush went to Yale on his daddy's coattails and has more blue blood in his little finger than Dean has in his whole body. All W would have to do is smirk and he'd win the South and the Midwest.

The delegates are acutely aware of this fact. So given a chance, they'll nominate someone who can whip Bush's ass, and that's General Clark. Who cares if he's half-Republican? He's antiwar and pro-choice, and that's good enough for me. He's military, so he doesn't have to go bomb some place to prove he's not a pindick. His worst sin is failing to hate the Republicans enough, and I think the Democratic convention will forgive him.

As for cojones and telling it like it is, I'm not finding Clark wanting in that department.
