McCain is what Republicans used to be when they were about more than personal greed/religious wackiness. Then Ray-gun came along (followed by a bevy of crack-pot right-wing fundamentalists) and stole the Republican party away from almost normal, fairly decent adults. Now we have a white house who's contact in Israel believes she was the victim of witchcraft because she stood to close to a Harry Potter book.

If it had been McCain versus Gore in 2000 it would have been a much tougher choice for me, if only because McCain had the balls to stand up to the far-religious right wing of the Republican Party.
