My thought: I would condense it down to a combination of "make fun of patriotism, soldiers, the military" and "have your characters present at an award ceremony." Something along those lines. Regardless of how closely you follow the guidelines, funny is funny. So as long as you keep things loosely in the area of the above mentioned stuff, you should be fine.
