I think there oughta be some awards that are CC specific. I mean, if hell should freeze over one day and I win a CC, I would like to be giving awards. It's a much easier system for me.

there is an award that is CC-specific: winner. if you're talking about FTC-style side games... well, that's what FTC is for. personally, i don't much like the FTC vibe, what with everyone competing for various different "prizes," but the straightforward (and time-honored) approach of the CCs suits me fine. assuming you wanted my forty-seven cents, there it is.

that said, if you win a CC, you can make the rules for the next one anything you want. if they're stupid, no one will enter; it's nice and self-policing that way.

Also: I am confused by the idea that possums is putting forth, if you win a contest you want an award? Like, sent in the post to your house? Other than being able to walk around saying "I won Comic Contest 83" what do you actually want?

The idea of various other meaningless awards is pointless, although when I'm running a contest I usually give out a "Kajun Firefly Flaming Bag of Crap Award" to mock the worst entrant, some people actually take honour in receiving this, so it's really up to you if you win to invent such things.
