As much as I loved the concept of this site, I never much enjoyed my time here. I understand that you can't please everyone, and I never expected to get glowing responses to my comics or posts.
Yet in the time I spent here, I was routinely buried in flames more so than in any forum I've ever posted on in the years I've been surfing the net.
I routinely was rated as either 1 star or 5 stars. More people gave me a rating of 1 than 5, and I sat with 2 stars while people who couldn't spell to save their life, let alone construct a sentence were being praised for their brilliant comics.
It seemed like this website was a self-appreciation society where everyone took turns patting each other on the back so long as you were already part of the "in-crowd". Actual good comics are few and far between, buried in the mountains of rehashed inside jokes that people pandered for.
And because of the community, I never bothered coming back, nor did I become a donator as I had intended. Why give money to a community that clearly has quite a disdain for me?
Why bother coming back here and posting?
I saw link to a comic, and when I clicked on it, someone had listed me in their favorites.
I was friggin' blown away.
It's nice to know that at least one person enjoyed my comics.
Maybe I'll give this thing a go again and see how it goes.
