In times of strife, I oft-times turn to the Stripcreations chat, where, oft-times, the talk turns to booze. "Why is there no current thread for such things?" I've thought to myself at some of these times. WELL NOW THERE IS.

See? It's right here.

As a budding beer afficianado, I feel the need/desire for such things.

Talk about any alcohol here, not just beer. Hey, turn this into a mead home-brewing club, compare hilarious Skye vodka experiences, or just plain post random comments while especially toasted. Who knows? Even spin-off threads are possible!!!!lol

So, I'll start.
-----------------------------------------------------
This is my beer glass.

I got it as a birthday gift from the friend that got me into craft beers, and I must say that it is indeed fantastic. Every beer I've dranken since I got the glass I have dranken from the glass. Nice to just read that warning now.
When perusing for the picture above, I discovered that Stone has several more "specialty" glasses, as well as some damn handsome pint glasses, which I may have to purchase when $$$ permits.
I've gotta say, Stone is a fantastic brewery, and I would recommend anyone getting into beer to try ANYTHING Stone makes. Anyone already into beer is mostly likely intimately familiar with this great, solid brewery.

This, I have dubbed my "signature" beer one obvious reason.

As far as the actual beer goes, I really do like it, which I am glad for. It's a Belgian style "quadrupel" ale, and quite tasty and quite strong. For the sake of shortening this post, I won't do a full review, however I would recommend this beer to anyone who thinks they would like a light-colored, but very strong and malty beer. Also, follow the link from that picture to a really good beer rating site.
Also, when looking for that picture I found that Avery (the brewery of The Reverend), makes a shirt for The Reverend that I simply must have, once again when $$$ permits.
-----------------------------------------------------

So anyway, get crackin'! There's no good reason with all of you drunkards out there that this thread shouldn't become entertaining to the point of stickyingableness.

DRINK UP AND TYPE

I'm gonna demand that Stone Stout be introduced to the pub i work in. Why? Well, i like pouring pints of Guiness because writing a shamrock on the top of it looks cool. With a Russian one, i'd do a hammer and sickle :D

Who did what now in '89?

Stone is indeed awesome. I'm lucky to live in San Diego, where it is made, so there are plenty of taps serving it around town. Here's me in Czech Republic in July wearing a Double Bastard cycling jersey.

I'm not the beer drinker I used to be (I've switched to wine), but when I'm out and I'm drinking beer, it's always Stone if it's available.

I haven't had much wine, but I do believe I enjoy reds better. I'm currently going through all varieties of Avia red wines. Check your grocery store. They taste terrible and cost 4 dollars.

I drink them out of plastic Halloween-themed goblets.

That's what I would love to drink all the time. Big Rock Grasshopper Wheat Ale, brewed in Alberta.

However, hardly any bars here in Saskatchewan serve it, so I'm usually drinking
1)Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale (brewed in the Maritimes)

2)Molson Canadian (which is typically a last resort)

3) MGD (but usually only at my friends house because that's all that he drinks...)

4) Labatt Blue (again, a last resort)

5) Kokanee (which is brewed in BC, and the very last of last resorts. As in, I'll drink it if its 2.25 a bottle)

The best part of Kokanee is on every bottle there's a yedi somewhere in the mountain. When you and a bunch of your friends are already hammered off the stuff, finding the yedi is almost as amusing as falling down stairs.

I used to despise anything Miller...but after getting into really intense beers, watery shit beers really have no shocking effect on the palate. Therefore, I'm almost less of a beer snob now that I know that I kind of knowing what I'm doing with beer.

That said, there are some okay cheap beers. PBR is way better than Budweiser, and less cashola. Same with High Life. Why people ever drink Bud other than when there's nothing else is a mystery to me.

I like Widmer and Henry.

My favorite bar to go to for getting/trying out beer is the Horsebrass. Right next door is the Belmont Station which is loaded with micros.

And, excuse me for being a heathen, but Rock Bottom has a tasty wheat. And they got funky seasonals, like their current winter one which is apple-y and hoppy and effervescent.
