You followed up Donkey Boy and the Search for East! with Donkey Boy's Triumph over Lava!, your weakest showing thus far.
I fell into the mass marketing trap. There were Donkey Boy! caps, Donkey Boy! lunch boxes, even a Donkey Boy! marital aid. He was overexposed. I vowed never again!
That was followed by Character Development: How Ted Dilberg became Donkey Boy!, a work loved by fans, but panned by critics.
They said I catered to fans at the expense of plot. I've come to agree with them.
You wouldn't be accused of catering to your fans with your next offering. Roll clip, Alex!
