I'm studying for that test in Perception class, but I'm having trouble with some of the terms.
Like what?
What's the unit for loudness? Not decibels, the other one. Phones?
Close. You're just pronouncing it wrong. It rhymes with "bronze": phons.

For the curious, decibels measure the physical intensity of a sound; phons measure its perceived loudness.

Sones are also pscyhological/perceived loudness; I think they're based on phons. And I can't come up with a joke about them.
