Thanks for the link, Boorite. It makes some good points, and so some of the pages I found through this page. The claim of telepathy is probably the least credible. The claim to having a sense of humor is one I considered dubious from the beginning. The examples given of his alleged sense of humor just weren't that funny. I chose the subject line "Parrot with a sense of humor" mainly because this is a humor website, not because I really believed that part. Overall, the BBC article probably hypes up the less credible claims. Still, some of the more matter-of-fact claims about the parrot seemed remarkable enough. It allegedly uses past, present, and future tense appropriately, it allegedly has a larger vocabulary than most parrots, and it allegedly makes novel use of language instead of just parrotting what people say.
