My PC does do something worthwhile. It (along with the internet) provides me with nudie pics to peruse, thus making me happy and content...and prevents me from going on a tri-state killing spree. Countless lives have been spared because of internet porn.

I agree, on the grounds that Folding@Home has a better chance of acquiring useful results. But it's always possible the SETI&Home folks will decrypt an alien code that reveals the secrets to curing all disease. Then won't I feel like a jackass!
