Sorry Bunner, that wasn't actually directed at you. Sure, Michelangelo probably used a model, and almost certainly an Italian one (though you have to wonder where the hell the "Italian Stallion" cliche came from). I was referring to the Biblical figure it was based on.

More generally, I was pointing out that the statue is about as Greek as Margaret Thatcher.

He did have to call in a few favors, though, to get God and Adam to come in for the Sistine Chapel job.
