The hippie cop came from an dream of Frank Serpico's that I read in an auto biography of him. He dreamed that all the cops were hippies and that they were suspicious of all the straight, clean cut white dudes.

Show a reversal of power in anyway - a gothic president, a groovy space shuttle, hipster ministers, stuff like that.
