An interesting political test

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -6.67

...Trot and Cap'n Bill were free from anxiety and care. Button-Bright never worried about anything. The Scarecrow, not being able to sleep, looked out of the window and tried to count the stars.

I've done this test before, and I think it's a little biased. Asking whether globalisation should serve humanity or multinational companies is an almost rhetorical question.

Well, any test like this is going to be biased and/or innacurate. They can only ask so many questions, and the questions they do ask might even have different meanings to different people. I found a lot of those questions I wanted to answer, "Agree if , but disagree if ."

Nevertheless it came up with what I generally consider to be my political position, albeit a little less extreme than I would've thought. But it doesn't matter, since these tests are essentially useless.

This rant from a lovely cross between a blog and an online diary (with some other nifty stuff thrown in) sums up most brilliantly what I think of "personality" tests of any sort.

My score on the political test was:
Economic Left/Right: 2.00
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -3.03

If you want to see what party you should be a member of, you can also take this test, which I've always liked since I dislike the big two parties in this country (America). According to that test I'm 100% Libertarian, although I'm not sure I agree with that, either.

I'm 95% Green Party. Which I guess fits, but I've always considered myself to be a little too cynical to be truly Green.

Yeah, it does seem that some of these questions are badly worded. I mean, stuff like "significantly physically disabled people should not be allowed to reproduce," only guys like Bedlam would answer "Strongly Agree" to.

And where's the blasted "neutral" choice?

1) Green Party 75%

3) Democratic Party 50%
4) Natural Law Party 50%
5) Reform Party 50%
6) Republican Party 44%
7) Constitution Party 31%

Looks about right, even though the Greens are a bit too granola for my tastes, and the Libertarians are kooky for wanting to privatize as much of the infrastructure as possible....
